International cooperation for the preservation and restoration of Ukrainian soils
On May 14, 2026, the State Institution "Soil Protection Institute of Ukraine" was visited by a delegation from Estonia as part of the development of international cooperation in the field of sustainable land use and soil restoration.
The delegation included the President of the Estonian Chamber of Agriculture and Commerce Kerli Ats, leading expert and consultant on regenerative agriculture Stefan Gernert, project manager Silja Lehtpu, head of the sustainable farming direction "Healthy Soils" David Ian Robertson, as well as the project manager from the Ukrainian side Halyna Bohachenko.
During the meeting, the participants discussed modern approaches to preserving soil fertility, the implementation of regenerative agriculture practices, as well as the issue of adapting agriculture to modern environmental challenges. Special attention was paid to the exchange of practical experience, scientific developments and prospects for further cooperation.
Representatives of the delegation got acquainted with the activities of the institution, the areas of work of specialists and the capabilities of the laboratory base in the field of soil research.
International cooperation in the field of soil protection opens up new opportunities for the exchange of experience, the implementation of modern practices and the development of joint initiatives aimed at the preservation and restoration of land resources of Ukraine.
