On August 11–12, in Kharkiv, the Acting Director General of the State Institution “Institute of Soil Protection of Ukraine” Roman Palamarchuk and specialists of the institution took part in a two-day training organized within the framework of a joint project of FAO Ukraine and UNDP Ukraine on mine action.

The training combined theoretical classes and practical work in field conditions. The participants got acquainted with the basics of hydrogeology, the peculiarities of the spread of pollutants in soils and groundwater, and also practiced practical skills in drilling monitoring wells, taking and documenting soil samples, installing wells for monitoring and researching groundwater.
