The Museum of Living Soil has been opened at Podolsk State University
On June 26, 2026, the Podolsk State University Higher Education Institution hosted the grand opening of the Museum of Living Soil, a modern scientific and educational space designed to popularize knowledge about soils, their biodiversity, and their role in ensuring food security and sustainable development.
Representatives of the state institution “Institute of Soil Protection of Ukraine” participated in the event: Volodymyr Sobko, Director of the Western Interregional Center, and Vasyl Pasichnyak, Director of the Southwestern Interregional Center. They joined the professional discussion of modern approaches to soil protection, the development of soil science, and strengthening cooperation between scientific and educational institutions.
The museum was created within the framework of the international SoilTribes initiative. Its concept combines science, education, and interactive solutions that allow visitors not only to get acquainted with the structure and functions of the soil, but also to understand its importance for human life and the environment.
The museum's exposition introduces modern soil monitoring technologies, demonstrates the processes occurring beneath the earth's surface, and promotes a responsible attitude towards one of the most valuable natural resources. The space will also become a platform for educational events, scientific discussions, and the popularization of soil science among young people and the general public.
