Completion of JICA's Agricultural Land Restoration Program in Ukraine
On September 2, 2026, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Invitation Program, dedicated to studying Japanese experience in the field of soil analysis and agricultural land restoration, ended.
The Ukrainian delegation included representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Environment of Ukraine, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Ukrainian experts, as well as specialists from the state institution "Institute of Soil Protection of Ukraine" - Acting Director General Roman Palamarchuk and Head of Department Yaroslava Zhukova.
During their stay in Japan, the delegation members visited research institutions, universities and specialized organizations, participated in thematic lectures, professional discussions and exchange of experience with Japanese specialists. The main attention was focused on the issues of analysis and assessment of soil condition, environmental monitoring and agricultural land restoration.
On the final day, the participants presented the results of their work and developed plans for the next five years, aimed at further using the knowledge and Japanese experience to restore agricultural lands in Ukraine.
A ceremony was also held to award certificates to the program participants.
The completion of the program summed up a busy period of professional exchange, during which Ukrainian specialists had the opportunity to directly familiarize themselves with Japanese approaches and practices and identify promising areas for their further use in Ukraine.
